Frequently Asked Questions

How do I clean and care for my piece?

We suggest only hand washing all ceramic pieces. We recommend storing in a cool and dry place, such as on display or with your other dishes. We also do not recommend putting your piece in the microwave or oven, it would get extremely hot and is hard to handle.

How durable are your items?

We use quality products, including premium Laguna stone wear clay and Macyo glazes. We fire our products twice at over 2,000 degrees and it provides a solid piece. We have seen our pieces withstand one to three drops. If your product arrives broken, or has cracked or shattered with use, please contact us!

How do you make your pottery? How long is the process?

We start with some clay. We always try to recycle it when we can to get the most out of the material. Then, we head to our potters wheel and begin forming the lump into a cup, bowl or anything you can think of. Next, the piece is laid out to dry for about one day. After, we carve the bottom of the piece and smooth out any imperfections. Next, we let it fully dry and continue with the first firing. It takes about 8 hours of blasting heat, and another full day to cool off. Once cool, we are able to paint on the glazes, and it usually takes at least three coats with plenty of drying time in between. Once we have painted everything, we restart the firing process. All that said, it usually takes about a week from start to finish!

Are your pieces environmentally friendly and useable?

We use nontoxic and lead-free clay and glazes making everything we sell very much useable and food safe. We also make everything from home and hope to eventually harvest our own clay and glazes. However, we make sure to do our part in recycling, composting and trying to use as least amount of power as possible!

Why do restocks take so much time?

We only have two people running this business, with Gavin creating all the pieces by hand. Haylee is able to assist in glazing, running the kiln and adding products for sale. However, the process can take anywhere from 1-2 weeks to create a batch of new items. With both of us having separate jobs, some restocks may take a little bit.
